My very first french braid!

Ok... so I know, what a stupid thing to blog about, right? Well, stupid or not, I am very proud of my very first attempt at a french braid. Ok... so maybe I tried it on my barbies when I was little, but really, can anyone actually french braid the tiny head of a barbie?? Well, I can't! So introducing Aubrey's very first french braid, modeled by our very own Ashlyn Jade Olson....

So I know its not perfect, but I really didn't think I knew how. I knew what you were supposed to do, but I really did not think my hands would do it. So there you have it. Not to bad, eh?

Family Reunion

This past weekend we went up to Terry's uncle's cabin in Island Park for a family reunion. Terry's two brothers Robb and Trace came and brought there families, and also Terry's parents. The kids had a blast. They played nonstop. Blake has 2 boy cousins right around his age, and Ashlyn has a girl right around her age. Really, there was no need for any of us adults to even be there cause the kids seemed to just entertain and take care of themselves. The cabin had a playhouse with swings and a slide for the kids to play on, for when they weren't four wheeler riding, fishing, or floating in the stream. Blake suprised us at how well he can drive a four wheeler by himself, and also shoot a bow and arrow. Lets just say the kids were not ready to come home! I'm pretty sure they would choose to live there with their cousins if given a choice. Below are some pictures from our weekend...

Its a....

Yes thats right, we are having another boy!! We are very excited. We were hoping for a boy. The ultrasound was clear as can be, so there are no doubts. Blake wasn't as excited as I thought he would be. I think he wouldn't care either way. (Although I am sure when the baby comes, and gets big enough to play with, he will then appreciate that its a boy.) Ashlyn never really had an opinion before, when we would ask her what she wanted it to be she never really stuck with boy or girl, but then today, when she was told that its a boy, she was sad. She kept saying to me, "Its really a girl, isn't it Mom." I told her, "No Ashlyn, its a boy, we don't get to choose." But she is in denial and keeps saying its a girl. Oh well, she will get used to it. Terry really wanted Blake to have a little brother, he grew up with 3 older brothers, so he thinks every boy needs a brother. And as for me, I am just glad I don't have to bother with trying to get another little girl ready for church!! And yes, the baby looks healthy and perfect, and we will pray that it stays that way. We couldn't be happier! Now all we have to do is think of a NAME! (any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.)

The Drive-in

Friday night, Terry and I took the kids to the Drive-in movie. We had alot of fun! We put a full size matress in the back of Terry's truck, and threw a bunch of blankets and pillows back there. So we were able to lay out under the stars and watch our movies. We first saw Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs, and then after we watched Transformers 2. Ashlyn made it through most of Ice Age without falling asleep, and Blake made it until the intermission. He asked us to wake him when Transformers started, but we tried a couple of times but he wouldn't wake up. On the drive home, (at like 2:00 a.m.) he realized that he didn't get to watch it, and was VERY angry with us for not waking him up. We told him that we tried but he didn't believe us. He threw a fit all the way home and then refused to go to bed once we were here. He finally calmed down at like 3 in the morning and went to sleep. But to be honest with you, I am glad he didn't see it, the language was pretty bad in the movie, so he probably won't be seeing it at all. But other than being extremely tired, we had a really good time!

I tried to get a really cool picture of them watching the movie, but when the flash was on you couldn't see the movie screen, and when I turned the flash off you couldn't see the kids. So all you get is a boring picture of the back of their heads! So try to use your imagination.

Happy Birthday Terry!

We had a fun time celebrating Terry's birthday this year. To start his birthday off, Terry and I left the kids with his parents for the weekend and headed down to Vegas. We had alot of fun while there. We went to the "Knights at the Round Table" show at the Excalibur. They fed us "medieval times" style dinner, and we got to watch the Knights compete against eachother. We sat in the France section so we had to cheer on the Knight from France. (and in my opinion he was the cutest, so we were lucky!) We enjoyed Vegas but it was VERY hot there so we were glad to come home. Then on Terry's actual birthday, Terry, Blake, and I went golfing. Terry played very well, and Blake and I only got better with each hole, so it was fun. We ended up spending the rest of the evening in Rigby at Terry's mom and dad's house which I hadn't prepared for. So at the end of the night I still hadn't had the chance to give Terry his presents or his cake, so I decided to throw him an appropriate party the next day. So when Terry got home from work the following day, I had the house decorated for his party, and invited his parents over for pizza, cake, and present opening. Terry got a few presents along with a birthday card that the kids and I made together for him. (pictured below)

(It reads: Dear Sugar Daddy, Thankyou for Raisin us up so well, you've taught us to be Smarties and not Airheads. And though you sometimes act like a really big Nerd, when we are with you we always have Skittles of fun. We promise to never Snicker at you, if you get a bit Chunky or even Tiny Size. We really did Skor in the Dad Department, you're a huge Life Saver and Mom thinks you're a Big Hunk. You're the brightest Starburst in the Milky way, and the greatest dad in the whole wide world. And even though we sometimes make you Red Hot, we still love you oh so very Much. Now that is your birthday we wish we had 100 Grand, and we would send you on a shopping Spree all the way to New York. But since we don't you'll have to settle for a bunch of Kisses. We love you Beary much. Love your, Junior Mints. (Blake and Ashlyn)

So yes, Terry got a REALLY long birthday celebration, but we were happy to do it, cause he is worth it! Happy 33rd Birthday you old man!! I love you!

Go Hotshots!

Blake's t-ball season has come to a finish. He had a really fun time playing on the Hotshots. I was one of his coaches this year. I am glad the season is over but will miss all of the fun little kids on our team. We had a great group of kids, and if you ask me, the best looking group of kids! They were all sooo cute! I am glad for the break, but it won't be for long. Blake starts kindergarten and soccer in August, so we will only have a short break before we start up again. Below are a few pictures from his games...
