Kindergarten Class Picture

Blake recently had spring pictures taken at school. The terrible mother that I am completely forgot about picture day! UGH! What he wore isn't something I would have chosen for pictures, but I am thankful he wasn't wearing some ugly Star Wars shirt or anything like that. Also, since I forgot, I wasn't able to order a class picture, because you had to pay for them the day of pictures. Thankfully a friend of mine did get one ordered, and she scanned it and posted it to her blog, so I was able to steal it from her. (Thanks Amy! Hope you don't mind!) Here it is... pretty cute!...

If you can't tell, Blake is on the middle row first on the left, wearing a blue and white striped shirt. His best buds are Dallin and Seth. Dallin is on the top row, third from the left with the green stripe on his shirt, and Seth is on the bottom row, fifth from the left in the button-up plaid shirt. He loves his friends and is sad to hear that Seth will be moving this summer. Darnit!

My New Best Friend!

All of you who want so badly to be my BFF.... Sorry, there is someone who has already filled that place in my heart. It all happened on a cold spring day while Terry was surfing the web. He came across her add on craigslist and new he had to get her for me. Was she used you might ask... yes. Does she need a little extra love... yes. But that didn't matter to me, I knew she would fit right in. So we didn't hesitate and swooped right in for her, and it has been love ever since! Here she is...

Isn't she a BEAUTY!!

Ok, yes, I'm a dork!! But honestly, this has been the best purchase! Ever since we got this, I have not seen my kids. Its been wonderful!! It came with 2 swings, rings to hang on, monkey bars, a rock climbing wall, a slide, a clubhouse, a deck beneath the clubhouse, and a sandbox area behind the rock wall. We do still need to repaint it, but other than that she's good as new. The kids have just loved it, and litterally play on it all day. (if the weather permits). So if you want your kids out of your way, just send them over. *we are not responsible for any injuries. Ha!

What were they thinking?

Look at these two. Sweet little innocent faces... they could do no wrong, right? WRONG!!

A couple of nights ago we were getting the kids ready for bed. I was walking up to Ashlyn's bedroom and notice one of those child safelty knobs on her doorknob. I thought, no big deal, she was obviously just trying to keep Blake out of her bedroom. Either that or she was just playing with it. Wrong, those were not the reasons. The real reason was, she was trying to keep her parents out of her room. Why you might ask? Well because when I opened the door, this is what I found...

So I know what you are thinking... "all kids rooms are messy, so what!" But no, first of all, Ashlyn's room is never messy unless she has friends over. Second of all, it wasn't like it was just a bunch of toys that she had been playing with that she left out. Blake and Ashlyn litterally tore her room apart . Every single toy bin had been turned over and every shelf had been emptied. These pictures do not justify what the room really looked like. The best way I can describe it is... you know how in movies when someone comes home and they notice that they have been either robbed or someone was searching for something, because the burgular has emptied and torn apart every last inch of the house? Well that is what Ashlyn's room was like. There was nothing that was still in its place. And let me just say, Terry was less than pleased!! I have never seen him so mad at Blake. (We know that it was Blake's idea cause Ashlyn would have never done that on her own. She loves how pretty her bedroom is.) Blake was supposed to have his friend Seth over to play the next day, but I had to call his mom and cancel last minute because Blake needed to realize how mad we were. And just to give you a comparison, this is how Ashlyn's bedroom looks most of the time...

Terry and I were stunned. What made these kids decide that it would be fun to destroy her room? Well, with all of the yelling and punishing and threatening that took place afterwards, you'd be safe to bet all of your money that it will never happen again.
