We had a really fun Memorial Day weekend this year. We took our new camping trailer up to Island Park and met Terry's parents up at a campsite where they were staying in their 5th wheel. We didn't get to claim our regular camping spot but still had a great time. The boys woke up early Saturday morning and took a boat up to Henry's Lake to go fishing. Blake caught the first two fish within just 30 minutes so he was ready to be done pretty early. They left the lake with just one more fish, which Terry had caught. Later that weekend we all went and fished off the bank of the lake. Ashlyn caught her first fish there but as we were trying to reel it in, her line broke. So she was pretty disappointed. While camping Terry and I took the kids hiking on a trail that we found. It was such a pretty hike. We stumbled upon a creek that was really pretty. Blake led the way and everytime we asked him if he wanted to turn around and head back, he kept wanting to go further, so we just kept following. Unfortunately, just as we decided it was time to head back, it started to rain, and we were quite a ways away from camp. It really started coming down hard. We actually had to stop and take shelter under a tree. When we decided it was starting to let up, we made a run for it. Terry had to carry Ashlyn the whole way. Luckily I had a t-shirt on with a button up long sleeve over it, so I was able to take that off and let Ashlyn wear it (the rain was pretty cold). But we all made it back in one piece. (Getting caught in the rain was actually the highlight of my trip. Being from Louisiana, it rained alot growing up, and we played in the rain ALOT. So being stuck out in the rain, being forced to play in it was really fun for me!) We had a really great time and are looking forward to our next camping trip.
