Last Day Of Work!!!

So I am now "officially" a stay at home mom. YAY! My last day of work was on Thursday, February 12th. I had alot of fun working at Mountain View Hospital, but I am looking forward to staying home with the kids. I made lots of good friends while working there, and plan on staying in touch and hanging out with them whenever they have time. My last day of work was pretty fun. Terry sent me a bouquet of flowers and I got a few fairwell cards from my co-workers. There was one card in particular that not only made my day, but made the day of everone I work with too. I have provided a picture of it below so that you can see for yourself how great it is. (hint: you may have to click on the card and read what is written to understand. Keep in mind that this is a going away card.)

So if you haven't figured it out yet... if you look at the one note written in RED, you will see that it says, "Happy Birthday!" signed Missy. My birthday isn't until August!! So this poor lady, who is really sweet, had no idea why they were signing a card for me, she just assumed it was a birthday card. HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!! We were cracking up about this for probably 20 minutes. The department that she works in had gotten wind about this, and they all thought it was pretty hilarious too. So we made sure to tell them that we had been dying over this for 20 minutes. I seriously had to show everyone that I saw that day, and they all got a kick out of it too. Maybe you had to be there to apprieciate it, but either way, I had to blog about it, because it seriously made my last day so much fun! I WILL MISS YOU GIRLS! DON'T FORGET TO CALL ME SOMETIME!!

All About Me

Ok.. so I got tagged by the weirdest, yet awesomest person I have ever met... my sister Jenna. I have to list 25 random things about myself. This is probably going to be hard but hopefully not too boring for those of you who may read this. And Jenna... some things might look like I copied yours, but whether you want to admit it or not, we have alot in common!! So apparently the rules are as follows: once you've been tagged, you have to make a list of 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about yourself. At the end, choose 5 people to be tagged and list their names at the bottom. You also have to tag the person who tagged you.So here goes!
1.
I used to be pretty athletic. Not saying I'm not still athletic, but I am definately past my athletic prime. I played all sports growing up. Basketball and volleyball in middle school, and softball in highschool. I was always pretty good at any sport you threw at me. I am pretty out of practice now though!! I play a little coed softball in the summer, but I am pretty out of shape. I would love to be able to pick up and play some more.
2.
In my "adult" years I have become pretty much a freak when it comes to other peoples germs. To give a couple examples... everyday at work when I first get there, before I do anything else, I take the hospital quality "germicidal" wipes, and wipe down everything from my desk, keyboard, phone, and armrests on my chair. Even if I am pretty sure I was the last one to touch it, you just never know. And anytime I go on a trip, I always pack my Clorox wipes with me. When staying in a hotel, have you ever given any thought to what the last person who touched the remote was doing while holding it. EEWWW! I wipe that down along with any table tops or toilets. And don't get me started on the bed spreads. You will never find me laying on one or covering up with one.
3.
I love chocolate!! Chocolate chip cookies, chocolate brownies, chocolate butterscotch peanut butter rice krispy treats... and the list goes on.

4.
My biggest fear isn't that someone will break in and murder me, it is that if someone does break in and murder me what will happen to my kids. Will they just sit around scared and not know what to do? How long will they be there until someone finds out that something happened? Wouldn't that be sad. Hopefully Blake is old enough to know to go get a neighbor or someone.

5.
I am really weird behind closed doors. I am constantly dancing silly or making up silly songs for my kids. It is just fun making them laugh. Although sometimes I think they are just straight up freaked out by me. Hopefully I am not messing them up too bad.

6.
I am a horrible singer. I am so bad that even my own parents tell me I'm bad. It is really too bad because I love to sing and so my family has to hear it anyways!!

7.
I am a shopaholic. I have every Friday off and I have a really hard time staying away from the stores on that day. Terry always teases saying that we need to get me a part time job for Friday because it costs us too much money for me to have that day off.

8.
I love to draw and color. Which is pretty awesome cause Ashlyn loves to draw and color too so we can just sit down at the kitchen table and do it together.

9.
I am pretty competitive. It kills me when I loose. I always have to have a rematch. Especially if it is against Terry!!! I can't stand it when he beats me!!!!
10.
I had to have surgery and have my appendix out while I was 10 weeks pregnant with Ashlyn. I was worried that something would happen to her but everyting turned out just fine.

11.
I love animals. Dogs and cats are my favorites. I can't watch the animal planet cause there are always those shows where animals are being neglected. It just makes me so sad!

12.
I always wanted to be an teacher, but I have never even begun a day of college, so there goes that idea!

13.
I love Diet Dr. Pepper.

14.
When I am eating, I have to take a drink of whatever i am drinking between each bite. It just makes the food taste better and easier to swallow. I had know idea, but supposedly that is a weird thing. But if you ask me, i think people who enjoy being thirsty between every bite are the weird ones. (Amber)

15.
My favorite color is RED!

16.
I have a really hard time making new friends. Girls are intimidating to me. And once you do start hanging out it is hard to get past that awkward stage.
17.
I hate to cook. Its no so much the actual cooking part, its trying to figure out what to cook. I feel like I am constantly cooking the same old thing. I am open to any of you giving me some ideas along with the recipe! :)
18.
My dad shot me in the ankle with a B B gun. And the B B is still in my ankle.
19.
I would like to learn how to speak spanish. It just sounds like so much fun.
20.
I was a horrible student in high school. (I know... its very hard to believe. I am so intelligent.)
21.
I once got hit in the face by a two by four. It knocked all of the braces off my teeth and made them stick to my lips. It instantly gave me two black eyes, swelled up my lips, and gave me a huge nose. I had to go to the emergency room so they could remove the braces from my lips. Luckily everything when back to their normal size and color. (How did I get hit in the face by a two by four?? Its a long story, ask me some other time.)
22.
I would like to take a photography class.
23.
I got stuck in the leg with a javelin. My friend was practicing throwing the javelin in a field at our high school. She was practicing with another girl. They were throwing the javelin back and forth across the field to eachother. I was laying in the grass at a safe distance. (so I thought) The other girl threw it back to my friend, but when it hit the ground it did not stick, it bounced and then slid right over into my upper thigh. I got a pretty good gash and it bled pretty good, but it healed up on its own.
24.
I was voted most loyal friend my senior year in high school.
25.
I don't have a ton of friends, but the friends that I do have are the best.

Alright, so TAG, your it: Jenna, Amber, Brittany, and Ali.

Grandpa Peterson

Grandpa Peterson died last Friday, January 16, 2009. He had gotten sick about a week earlier. Luckily when he got sick, Terry, the kids, and I were able to go see him one last time. Terry was really close to him, so it was extra hard for him to say goodbye. We were really sad to lose him, but we know he is in a better place and is now happy and comfortable there with his wife. The kids really enjoyed the times they got to spend with him. He always had a piece of candy or a dollar for them. Ashlyn especially seemed to like him. She loved giving him hugs and kisses. Even at the funeral when they were closing the casket I had to hold her back because she wanted to go talk to Grandpa Peterson. We will miss him but are all happy we had the chance to know him.

Happy New Year!!!

This year we decided to celebrate the New Year over in Boise with my sisters Aja and Jenna, and their families. We hadn't seen either of them since Labor Day weekend so we thought it was about time! On our drive over (which takes close to 5 hours), we could tell Ashlyn wasn't feeling well. We had gone through McDonald's drive through and got the kids chicken nuggets (which Ashlyn loves), but Ashlyn would not eat them. I threaten her that if she didn't eat, she was not going to be allowed to play with her cousin Baylee. (why do we as parents make empty threats? as if I was going to keep her from playing with her cousin.) Anyway, the threat worked because Ashlyn started eating. (bad idea) Shortly after, Ashlyn starts throwing up all over herself and her carseat!! EEWWW!! So we pull over at the next exit, to clean up, and I am just thinking to myself, "there goes our weekend!" So it is freezing cold outside, we strip Ashlyn out of her clothes, and Terry... yes Terry, cleans up all of the throwup. (I don't do well with throwup) We had only driven an hour and a half out of the 5 hours we had total, so I think to myself, "do we finish the drive and risk having her be sick the entire drive, and weekend, and possibly get everyone else sick, or do we turn around and go back home and take care of her in the comfort of our house?" Thankfully we decided to finish the drive to Boise. Come to find out, Ashlyn takes after her mom and gets car sick really easy! Her and Blake had been watching a Transformers cartoon movie in the backseat, and apparently all of the action and flashing lights while riding in the car made her sick. (or at least that is what we decided happened.) Needless to say, we made it to Boise without anymore sickness. We had an awesome time!! Jenna and Glenn got Guitar Hero World Tour for Christmas and we played that all weekend. It was alot of fun. I also got to see my cousin Shayne and his wife Heather (whom I had never met.) Ashlyn was happy to get to play with Baylee and Blake was just as happy to see his cousins Caitlyn, Caleb, and Jaedyn. And I wanted baby Joslyn for myself but she wanted nothing to do with me. :( Anyway, we had a great time and I can't wait til the next time I can hang out with my sisters. I miss them, they need to move to Idaho Falls!!!
And here's a picture of Ashlyn and Baylee playing in a box. Baylee has a million toys but this is what they played with the most. I KNOW WHAT I'M GETTING ASHLYN FOR HER BIRTHDAY THIS YEAR!!!

CHRISTMAS MORNING

The kids came down the stairs dressed in their brand-new pajamas to see what Santa brought. Blake didn't believe that Santa actually came because he says he listened all night for him but did not hear him or any bells. We told him that Santa was extra quiet not to wake him up. They were so EXCITED!

Here's what they saw!!

Santa left one present unwrapped for each of them so that they could have something to play with as soon as they came down. But there were many more under the the tree to open.
Time to open presents!!

Here is Ashlyn and Blake playing with their "Gameboys." Blake's really is a Gameboy but Ashlyn's is just a handheld princess game. We knew there would be a big fight over Blake's Gameboy, so we thought we better get Ashlyn one also. So we all call it a Gameboy and she hasn't notice a difference yet!! AREN'T THEY CUTE!!!!

Blake posing with his robot. We never could get him to stand still long enough to get a picture infront of all of his gifts. Oh well! When we were done opening all of the presents Blake said, "I got everything I wanted." That sure makes a mom and dad happy! And when we asked him what his favorite thing was, he said, "EVERYTHING!!"

Ashlyn posing infront of most of her presents. She was a happy little girl!!

Ashlyn got this adorable baby on a wooden rocking horse from Santa. She loves it, and I liked it because it looks like something Santa's elves could have actually made at Santa's workshop!

Blake got this awesome robotic spider from Santa. It is remote controlled and all of his legs move to walk and when its wings spread apart a missile launcher comes out and blake can launch suction cup missiles at people. It is really a neat toy, but Ashlyn is terrified of it. Its not because of the missile launcher but the bug itself just freaks her out. She cries and climbs on top of the funiture because she doesn't want it to get her. POOR THING!

We are on our way to Grandma and Grandpa's house. They got these cute winter hats for Christmas from their Great-Grandma Nope. We miss her and love her. She lives in Dallas so we never get to see her.

We built this snowman on Christmas day while playing at Grandma and Grandpa's house (Terry's parents.)

Uncle Ricky

My brother Ricky came down for Thanksgiving this year. The kids were really excited to see him. They had alot of fun playing with him and beating up on him. We are glad him and my parents were able to come down. (Although I'm sure they probably are regretting it now, cause I know we ended up getting my mom sick, and I'm sure Dad and Ricky will be getting sick soon, if they haven't already!!)
