It has been a slaughter house at the Olson's lately.
Everytime I turn around, another member of my family has killed something...
Meet Susie, Charlie, Sandi, and Roxie.
They were just swimming around in Henry's Lake minding their own business, when these two innocent looking kids came along, and snatched them up out of the water. We fried them up a few days later and enjoyed them with some yummy funeral potatoes!Meet Stan and Dan.
They were galloping around in a beautiful meadow when yet again, this innocent looking boy and his dad came along with rifles. (I think you can imagine what happened next.) They are currently at the butcher shop being turned into jerky.

Last but not least, here's Bob.
You can probably guess what happened to him.But man, he sure looks happy in his pictures!

I appologize if I seem heartless in this post. I am actually a HUGE animal lover, and there is a reason why I am not seen in any of these pictures. I would never be able to shoot one of these animals, but the boys enjoy hunting, so I allow it as long as we eat the meat.
This has been a lucky hunting season. They were all killed within just a few days of eachother. (And I'm not complaining cause that means Terry is done hunting for the year. Yay!)

That's nice that he was done so quick!
ReplyDeleteBob probably lived a long life, so he was OK to go to the big meadow in the sky!!
ReplyDeleteDon shot a buck last weekend, we make mostly sausage...gotta have it for the gumbo. But we love jerky too!
Morbid!!! Poor little Bambi is wondering around the forest wondering what happened to his siblings! hahaha!
ReplyDeletePS..we'll take some jerky off your hands if you need us to! we're here to serve!
I hope that wasn't YOUR garage! Yuck! But good job to the boys! That's exciting! I am so glad Sean isn't really into hunting. The meat would be nice, but I like having him home and not having to look at dead animals. :)
ReplyDeleteJessica... thankfully that is my inlaws shop! I would die if that was in my garage!
