A Monster Named Blake

My question for you, Blake, is... What are we going to do with you?
Every mom wants the best for their kids, right? Well, Blake will be starting kindergarten soon, so of course, the caring mom that I am, wants him to have alot of friends. So a couple of the ladies I go to church with have boys the same age as Blake, so we have planned a "play group" every Wednesday. The way it works... every week we rotate who's house it will be at. When the group is at your house, the other mom's drop their kids off to play, while they go home, run errands, ect. Well last week, we had it a Blake's friend, Drew's house. So, I drop Blake off, and about an hour and a half later, I go pick him up. Everything seems fine, we go home, and go about our lives. Well this morning I go to the church to workout. (I do this every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.) Drew's mom goes there to workout as well. When I see Drew I ask him, "Are you coming to play at my house tomorrow?" (play group is at our house this week.) He said "no." I then say, "Yes, actually I think you are. Remember me, I am Blake's mom. You are coming to our house for play group." He then goes on to explain that, no he isn't coming, and goes on to say something about what Blake did at the last play group. It was loud with the workout music, so I didn't hear excactly what he said, so I just go on and continue my workout. Well throughout my workout I can't stop thinking about it. So when the class is over I go over to Drew's mom and ask if Drew will be coming over tomorrow. She tells me no, that Drew is punished. So I ask her if something happened at the last play group. She kind of hesitates and then tells me that something did happen. She said the boys went down to her basement, and made a huge mess of all of their food storage. She said they were setting the food up and bowling with it. Yes, bowling with it! I can only imagine... setting up some boxes of mac and cheese, and throwing some canned goods at them. She didn't really go into much detail, but I sure hope that all of the food remained in their containers. She explained that Drew had been looking forward to coming to our house, but that this seemed the best punishment for the situation. I then thought back to what Drew said, and I remember him saying that Blake did something. He never said WE. So I ask his mom if it was all of the boys or if it was just Blake. She told me it was all of them ,but that Blake refused to help clean up. He just went upstairs while the others cleaned up. I was not a bit suprised that he didn't help. I felt horrible and continued to appologize.

So the point of this story is... I really hope Blake isn't one of those kids who the other mom's don't want their kids to play with. I would bet a million dollars on the fact that it was probably Blake's idea to go bowling with the food storage, and that he probably made most of the mess. Ever since Blake was put in daycare, he has started acting up. There were kids at his daycare that were really naughty and that I would have liked Blake to not play with. Thankfully he is no longer in daycare. I just hope that we can reverse some of the bad habits he has picked up on while going there. He really is a good boy. MOST OF THE TIME!

  1. Ha ha that is a funny story. You probably weren't expecting bowling with food storage were you? Well atleast you can really drill him now that he's out of day care. The thing about day care is you don't know what they are up to all day with all the other kids. The play group is a great idea though. Way to go!

  2. Okay, I am horrified. I am about 100% sure that Dallin was partial ringleader. I can't believe that I had to read about this on your blog and that Dallin didn't tell me he got in trouble. I promise this playgroup was meant to help them makes friends, not be onery little boys. The way I see it is, they are all stir-crazy because they want to go outside. I bet they will get better once spring is here. Also, Blake has been great at my house. He is an awesome kid and Dallin just adores him. Hang in there!!

  3. LOL!!!! That is awesome! Yet horrible for you! I have to say that I'm impressed that they were creative enough to think up bowling with food storage! Where'd they come up with that?? I can see why you would think it was Blakes idea- I know he likes bowling on the wii! So is he in BIG trouble?? Well, we're excited about coming to visit!
